Overlooking the sparkling waters of the San Francisco Bay, you’ll immerse your senses at Pier 27, which is transformed into a splendid and roomy tasting hall for our Grand Tasting. This all-day Zinfandel expedition will present over 100 participating wineries. During the first portion of the day, winemakers and winery principals will be pouring reserve bottles, limited availability wines, and barrel samples at their tables. Be sure to visit the culinary stations to sample delectable bites from leading chefs. You’ll delight in these sophisticated samples paired with the wines. Other selections will inspire you to seek out new flavor combinations. The afternoon tasting highlights hundreds of different Zinfandel’s from California’s unique growing regions. And, throughout the tasting, you’ll meet many accomplished winemakers—legends who have helped make Zinfandel into California’s cult grape and the rising stars carrying Zinfandel into the future. A tantalizing day awaits you, filled with enchanting surprises and enjoyments.

ZinEX brings winemakers and enthusiasts together to showcase Zinfandel’s classic character and diversity for any occasion, whether it’s with burgers, fine dining, or simply sipping with friends. The weekend’s main event is Saturday’s Grand Tasting where attendees meet winemakers during the most comprehensive showing of Zinfandels and Zinfandel blends in the world. Experience face-to-face tastings with celebrated winemakers from over 110 wineries. The spacious open floor plan and panoramic views of the bay create a perfect backdrop for getting to know Zinfandel.

Heritage Lounge at the Grand Tasting is offered exclusively as a ZAP Heritage Club member benefit. The Lounge will be open from 1:00 – 5:00 PM. Served tastings of highly-allocated Zinfandels are featured as you relax and take in the view, while enjoying nibbles and treats, and talk with winemakers who will drop by throughout the day.
